Finally getting around to installing the 175a alternator that I purchased as part of my Electrocooler kit.

I've got the fan assembly off, and am beginning plans for how to run the power and ground cables. However unlike images I'm seeing from 3.2s, it seems the stock 993 ground wire doesn't simply bolt to the top of the crank case as it does on the 3.2. As such, the provided uprated ground strap would not be long enough to get to wherever it's going..

Would it be acceptable for me to simply attach to the crank case ground point, even though that's not where the stock ground strap is connecting to? I'm assuming yes.. but wanted to make sure there's no other nuance here with 993 engines that I'm missing.

Some more pictures of the way we connected the + and -.    In the the last photo it *looks* like the the original red cables are touching the -ve but the picture is deceptive.  In reality, the B+ terminal is taller so there is enough clearance.  Still, you need to be 100% sure that the + and - connections cannot touch!
