classicretrofit
Regular viewers of our Youtube channel will have seen the sneak peek of our new range of ignition coils in test on Jonny's 911. Wound by hand here in the UK, these coils are our solution to the poor quality items from Brazil currently being sold as OEM equipment, and low grade aftermarket items. The new Classic Retrofit ignition coils are built to a proper spec and testing has so far been very positive! No release date has been set - it really comes down to production times once we are happy with the final design. Stay tuned!
Matt L
Do you have any update on the release date for your coils? I have a 79 SC that has been retrofitted with an MSD box and blaster coil. Planning on an engine refresh soon so very happy to have found your website!
classicretrofit
Hi Matt, thanks for the post! No dates on the launch of the new coil but, following a successful dyno test on our own car last week, we have sent a second group of prototypes out to some engine partners for testing. We will update our social feeds with updates as and when 👍🏻
Randal
Hello, any word on your cdi coils, mine has failed partsklasik, in need of a new coil urgent, would buy your one if available as I have your cdi+ box, thanks Randal
classicretrofit
Thanks Randal - sadly the coil project has been on the backburner for a while due to other projects and we do not have a retail ready project as yet. I will ask the team for their recommendations.
classicretrofit
Hi Randal - here is what the guys say regarding coils: "Annoyingly the same manufacturer is our only viable recommendation right now even though they are still prone to fail. All other aftermarket coils are not up to the CDI+ standard. The coil was delayed due to issues with the partner we were using to create the windings. We have been looking further afield for suppliers and will be back into this later in the year."
