AHL Posted June 8 Posted June 8 Hey guys, Ive looked through the technical forum I have quadruple checked the wiring diagrams. My problem is the condenser fan wont turn on. My compressor runs fine, my blower runs fine, my button works fine and responds, the only thing is that the fan wont turn on. I have checked the following: -Receiving 12v on the power wire to the fan -Hooked up 12v and ground to fan to ensure its not a bad fan, it runs fine. -Tested in Putty and the compressor relay works fine -Tested in Putty and the fan relay does NOT click. - When I type "Fan=1" the message return is "Fan:ok" but nothing happens and no click from the relay. This would indicate that the wiring to the relay is incorrect but I have triple checked based on the diagram and all is fine. I have the relay wired accordingly: 87= fan ground wire 86=white wire from ecu 30=ground 85=ground On the "Isolating contactor relay" I have read that it doesn't matter which spades you connect the grey and black wire on, but I had tested in both positions to ensure I can rule this out as a possible cause and no fan in either position. Anyways, I know that the fan wont turn on until the compressors draws 35amps but its definitely a wiring problem as I cant get the fan relay to click. the only think I can think of is 1. Its just a bad relay out of the box 2. Something is wrong in the ecu and the white wire coming from the ecu to the fan relay is not triggering properly. Any help is appreciated -Alex. Quote
AHL Posted June 8 Author Posted June 8 UPDATE: Have tested relay and relay is working fine, have jumped 87 to 30 and fan turns on, have jumped 87 to 85 and fan turns on, so 100% the issue is there is no 12v signal coming into the relay from the white wire off the ecu. Question is why. Quote
Jonny Retrofit Posted July 23 Posted July 23 The 12V supply to the white wire comes from the red wire Vfan on the ECU. Have you connected this to the fuse box? Does it have 12V on it? Quote
ptseng Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Hi Jonny, I am having exactly the sake issue after replacing the evaporator. Can u explain more about to check the Vfan? thanks Quote
