  1. Wings are definitely original. It's tight against the outer skin. I'll post a pic on Friday Good to know trimming is ok Cheers
  2. Hi. I’ve been a very happy user of the aircon upgrade for several years now and it continues to make the daily drive experience of my ‘84 911 more enjoyable. I’m finally getting around to replacing the washer bottle and discovered the large bracket doesn’t quite fit. It fits over the 2 bolts in the wing and, while the top one fits fine, the gap between the bottom bolt and the wing is too tight to allow the bracket to slide over the bottom bolt. Is this a common issue and am I ok to grind down part of the bracket to allow it to fit? I think I’ll need ~5mm removed. Cheers, Stu
  3. Hi. I’m on the last of the wiring before sending it to the mechanic on Monday to test the system, then gas it up and switch her on. My (hopefully) last question is what to do with the wires that would have normally connected to the contactor relay if you don’t install that relay? Do I need to connect the gray wire that comes off the Grey ECU loom and the small black ground wire that is on the small loom labeled as ‘5’ on the wiring diagram? Cheers, Stu
  4. Hi. I have the blower and compressor mounted, and am about to mount the condenser in the rear of the left rear tire well, with the pipes running under the car to the front left fender and then up and into the trunk. I’ve found 2 grommet holes near the front left corner of the trunk that are above the battery (see pic attached). They are in the right place but seem too thin to allow the #6 and #8 pipes through. Does it just need more force, or do I need to widen the holes, or are there better locations I should be using? Cheers, Stu
  5. Hi. I’m 2/3rds through the install on my ‘85 911. All going well so far but I have 2 ques: 1. My dryer unit doesn’t have any arrows on it indicating the direction of flow. When I look down the entry/exit ports, one is deeper and appears to extend beneath the glass lens on the top of the unit. The other port seems much shorter. Anyone know which is the entry and which is the exit? See pics below. 2. I’m mounting the condenser behind the left rear wheel. The reasons for this are that I’m keen to keep the fog lights and am trying to only use existing mounting points. My mechanic recommended using one of the bolts that starts on the inside of the engine bay and then p-clips that attach to the struts that run from the chassis to the bottom edge of the rear skirt. It seems pretty solid and fits great. The only issue is it requires running the #6 and #8 tubes plus the electrics up under the rear wheel arch. Any ideas for how best to mount this? I’ve seen one picture where they appear to be zip-tied to the engine lid release cable, but not sure if that is sturdy enough and if the zip ties will last in there? Cheers, Stu
